Winter With Maple City Art

Creativity, Community & the Magic of Paint Nite

Winter has officially settled into Toronto — crisp air, glowing lights, warm pubs, and that cozy energy that makes you want to create something beautiful. For me, winter isn’t just a season; it’s my busiest, happiest, and most heart-filling time of year as an artist and host with Maple City Art through Paint Nite.

This is the season when people bundle up, grab their friends, sip something festive, and decide they want a night out that actually means something. A night where they can laugh, unwind, try something new, and go home with a memory — and a handmade creation they’re proud of.

And I get to be the person who brings that magic to life.

Winter Classes I Offer: Creative Nights for Every Mood

Winter is when my workshop lineup gets extra colourful (and a little sparkly). Between Paint Nite and the classes I host independently through Maple City Art, there’s something for every type of maker, doodler, beginner, or “I swear I’m not artistic!” friend.

1. Paint Nite (My Most Popular!)

These are the events that started everything for me. I guide guests step-by-step through beautiful seasonal paintings — snowy forests, frozen waterfalls, colourful winter skylines, and whimsical holiday scenes. The best part? The vibes. Everyone relaxes, laughs, chats, and by the end of the night, they’re taking photos with their paintings like proud parents.

2. Candle-Making Classes

These classes smell like heaven. Guests get to mix their own scents, choose colours and vessels, and create custom candles that feel like luxury boutique pieces. Winter favourites always include; Vanilla chai, Winter pine, Frosted cranberry, and Warm amber

It’s a full sensory experience — and it makes the cutest date night.

3. Wreath-Making Workshops

A winter bestseller. People love showing up with a hot drink and leaving with a wreath they made with their own hands. Fresh greenery, ribbons, pinecones, berries — it’s crafty, it’s festive, and people always walk out glowing.

4. Terrarium-Building

These classes attract nature lovers, plant parents, and anyone who wants something green during the winter months. I love watching people carefully design their own tiny ecosystem — everyone’s terrarium ends up with a little personality.

What I Love Most: The People Who Show Up

Here’s the truth: as much as I love teaching art, it’s the people who make this work so special.

Every week, I meet:

  • Best friends doing their monthly catch-up

  • Parents and adult kids bonding

  • Colleagues looking for something more fun than a boardroom

  • First dates trying something new

  • Couples celebrating anniversaries

  • Solo guests who walk in shy and walk out with 10 new friends

I get to be part of birthdays, bridal showers, girls’ nights, date nights, “we need a laugh” nights, and “we just want to feel creative again” nights.

And honestly?

These connections are the reason I do what I do.

People tell me:

  • “I haven’t painted since I was a kid.”

  • “This was the most fun I’ve had in months.”

  • “I needed this tonight.”

  • “You made me feel like I could actually do art.”

Every event reminds me that creativity isn’t just about making things — it’s about letting go, being present, laughing, reconnecting with friends (or yourself), and making memories that last long after the paint dries.

Why Winter With Maple City Art Feels Special

Winter can be heavy. Dark, cold, isolating. But inside every venue where I host a class, the atmosphere flips — bright, warm, joyful, communal.

We celebrate the season through creativity. We bring light and colour into the darkest months. We slow down, sip something warm, and actually enjoy each other’s company.

For me, winter is a reminder that the simplest moments often become the most meaningful.

Come Create With Me This Season

Whether you want to build a terrarium, design a candle, paint a snowy skyline, or craft a wreath that smells like a winter forest — I’d love to meet you.

Every workshop is more than a class — it’s a shared moment, a new memory, and a chance to connect with someone… maybe even with yourself.

I hope to see you this season, laughing, creating, and filling winter with colour.
